SUMMARY:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible maintaining a company’s general ledger, which entails recording daily transactions, deposits, and income. The Accounts Payable Specialist must also be familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and assisting the accounting team with data preparation of compiling monthly financial statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep track of all payments, expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders and packing slips, invoices, statements, etc.
Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding the accounts payable process.
Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete and up-to-date manner.
Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on a monthly and on an as needed basis.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Other duties as needed or required to complete assigned job duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proficient in QuickBooks, or Accounting Software
Excellent communication & people skills
Attention to Detail
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Deadline oriented
The ability to work well with personnel, vendors, and customers to resolve problems
Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
