Studio Director & Business Development

About the Firm

This young company is an architecture design firm that works closely with commercial developers in Los Angeles and is also growing its own development wing. With a exponentially growing docket of projects, they are expanding quickly and are looking for a Business Development person to bring them to the next level with their commercial clients.

About the Role

You will work directly with the owner of the firm to manage existing clients in the commercial real estate development sector, follow up on leads for new work, steer the marketing of the firm, and engage with and support the staff and lead recruitment efforts. This role is for a people person who can gate keep the challenges of a demanding client and support a positive, fulfilling office culture and help it grow. This role has the potential to have a big voice in steering the marketing and branding of the firm and make huge contributions to the growth of this company. Internal growth in the company is desired, with ultimately an ownership of the firm is possible for excellent performance in the role.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships

• Follow up on leads for new work

• Support the owner of the firm by sharing business development activities, including attending social events

• Assist in developing a marketing direction for the firm

• Engage the firm with industry events

• Support and manage the staff of the office

• Support a positive office culture

Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of experience in Business Development in the AEC industry, ideally in the Los Angeles market

• Excellent communication skills – in both listening and speaking

• Experience in managing commercial development clients

• “People person” who loves to engage with architects and designers as much as they like to engage with clients

• Strong presentation and public speaking skills

• Experience in staff support, recruitment, and mentoring in the AEC industry
