Black Canyon Consulting is Hiring a HR Manager Near Bethesda, MD

Overview:

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for a HR Manager to join our corporate operations team. The HR Manager will report to the executive leadership, work closely with the Management, Staff Accountant and the HR team.

About the role:

This position is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to oversee and support the daily operations of the HR department. Their duties include crafting policies, comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, administering employee benefits, drafting templates for HR documents and to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees. The position will also be responsible for ensuring all employee records are up-to-date and confidential and act as the primary point of contact for employee's HR related questions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the administration, planning, managing, and overseeing human resources activities, operations and HR related projects.
  • Oversee the HR Communications strategy and make recommendations for effective communication to site teams.
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans. Serve as liaison with ADP to manage payroll-related matters.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll team, HRIS Manager on year end requirements.
  • Oversee and support HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensure policies, procedures, labor regulations and reporting are in compliance.
  • Facilitate and support HR projects and conduct HR-related training.
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
  • Assists with the establishing strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the HR Office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of HR and employee relations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification highly desired
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience and willingness to work cooperatively in a team
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Ability to think creatively, take initiative, and be proactive. Be results driven.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as attention to detail
