Alliance Physical Therapy Partners is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Grand Rapids, MI

Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: This position provides strategic leadership, direction, and management to the Human Resources Department for all Alliance Physical Therapy Partners companies. The Human Resources Manager is heavily involved in the administration of corporate Human Resource activities including retention efforts, benefits, employee relations, organizational structure and development, performance management, employee communication, employee policies and programs, HRIS and recordkeeping, and worker’s compensation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Human Resources to define and implement strategic human resources goals and objectives that are consistent with the company mission.
  • Evaluate, coach, and develop Human Resources personnel and ensure appropriate cross training within the department. Provide professional growth opportunities for individuals as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Human Resources on corporate compensation and benefit programs. Develop and recommend benefit plan offerings including researching and implementing competitive benefit options and vendors. Develop proactive compensation programs to provide rewards for effective performance and ensure competitiveness in the industry.
  • Oversee and assist in retention efforts including researching and providing competitive compensation and benefit programs, ensuring consistent and fair policies are being incorporated, and instilling a culture that promotes Alliance Physical Therapy Partners as an employer of choice.
  • Provide leadership and counseling support to company management on matters of goal setting, policy development, and strategic implementation in support of achieving corporate objectives.
  • Be a corporate resource by establishing credibility and demonstrating effective listening skills and a solid understanding of the business.
  • Ensure an effective company communication program is in place that fosters understanding and disseminates commensurate levels of information appropriately.
  • Coordinate and manage performance management systems to ensure effectiveness and consistent application with employees.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s HR and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs and retention.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HRIS Specialist, management, and other staff when complex, specialized and sensitive issues arise.
  • Oversee employee relations function, including disciplinary meetings and investigations.
  • Evaluate termination requests with the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
This list of duties is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that senior management may deem necessary.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field with 8-10 years’ experience, and 2-3 years’ experience leading a team
  • Deep understanding of the technical, legal, and strategic aspects of Human Resources.
  • Experience with HRIS/HCM administration and support
  • Strong background in employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Experience with employment laws in a multi-state environment, including California, New York, Washington, Colorado, and Maine
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interface and maintain effective relationships with all levels internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to perform in a dynamic business environment with multiple projects and aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information in an ethical manner.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously meeting key deliverable deadlines.
  • Strategic and self-directed with sound technical and analytical abilities, good judgment, and business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability develop credible relationships internally and externally.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS/HCM program.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Masters degree with 3 years’ experience leading a team
  • SHRM S-CP or PHR/SPHR certification
  • Experience in Human Resources Management within the healthcare industry
  • Experience with Paycor HRIS highly preferred
