Description

Purpose:

The Donor Development Manager will cultivate relationships with supporters, lead donor solicitation, and implement planned giving campaigns. 

 Expectations of every YWCA Staff Member: 

• Uphold and promote the YWCA Mission. 
• Maintain compliance with state standards.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures.
• Contribute to fund development efforts for support of all programs and the overall Association. 
• Provide support to other departments and staff.

Essential Duties: 

Individual Donor Development

• Strategically and intentionally engage individual supporters in relationships. 
• identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward potential and current donors.
• Increase annual retention of donors, number of donors and amount of individual gifts, including annual fund, special and major gift campaigns.
• Build relationships with individuals involved in awareness campaigns. 

Fundraising Events & Campaigns 

• Lead donor and sponsor recruitment for all agency fundraising events; including annual Circle and Race Against Racism 5K fundraisers.
• Lead donor and sponsor solicitation for community events; including diversity dialogues, coffee & conversations. 
• Develop and implement donor solicitation campaigns, including annual fund, employee giving, Giving Tuesday, and planned giving. 
• Other duties as assigned to meet organizational goals.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Philanthropic Studies, or related major; or a combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

• 2-3 years of related experience; preferred nonprofit development or sales.
• Strong relationship building skills with ability to communicate in a professional manner with a wide range of people. 
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when handling potentially confidential or sensitive manners.
• Strong time management skills; ability to take initiative to solve problems and work with minimum supervision.
• Comfortable in handling a multitude of projects with overlapping deadlines.
• Continuously work as a team member and willingness to work with other teams, including professional work attitude/mannerisms.
• Must comply with the organization's policy of automobile insurance: must have a valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance coverage. 
• Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office platforms.
• Experience with utilizing a contact management software database. 
• This position will be eligible for performance bonuses.
