POSITION: Accounts Payable Specialist

REPORTS TO: Team Lead Accounts Payable

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily payments of properly authorized and recorded payables activity for several entities across North America. Multiple payment methods utilized - Checks, ACH, and Credit Card
• Research and resolution of vendor issues, check management/mailing and disbursement control
• Maintenance and reconciliation of vendor accounts by identifying errors and misapplied payments
• Handle a large volume of invoice payments daily and weekly
• Responsible for auditing invoices, checks, and statements prior to payment of invoices
• Ensure payments are processed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner
• Monitor all calls by vendors and address all issues in scheduling and disbursing accounts payable in a timely manner
• Evaluate all accounts payable balance and resolve all issues regarding unpaid invoices
• Maintain and update all accounts payable data, as well as ensure accuracy in general ledgers
• Prepare batch check runs and credit card payments
• Continuously maintain process improvement across all Accounts Payable activities
• Perform other duties that are needed to support the accounting department
• Collaboration with team members

Necessary skills & qualifications:

· Knowledge and application of accounting principles, analytical techniques, and professional communication skills

· Problem solver and analytical insight

· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

· Strong organizational and project/time management skills

· Ability to work well and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

· Excellent follow-up skills

· Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications

· Associate degree preferred, or 3-5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable

Hours: M-F, 8a-5p
