Responsibilities

A Human Resources Assistant provides support with human resources functions; which may include, hiring, training, benefits, leave of absence administration, and maintaining the internal scheduling and timekeeping system. Maintains employee personnel files and collects and files various forms. Primary job responsibilities of a Human Resources Assistant include the following:

-Screens applicants in-person and on the telephone who have submitted applications for employment.

-Telephones prospective job candidates to schedule interviews, obtains references, and runs other necessary screenings on potential candidates.

-Conducts quality training for newly hired employees and existing employees.

-Conducts benefits meetings for eligible associates and provides accurate benefit information to associates; collects all associated paperwork.

-Assists in scheduling meetings and obtaining required checklists, reviews, policy updates, annual notices, and compliance documents.
