Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Director Human Resources, the Benefits & Wellness Manager will be provide a broad range of Benefits support, and is responsible for advancing the overall mission of The New Jewish Home (TNJH), by initiating programs and services that attract, retain, support, and motivate a diverse and highly qualified employee base.
This role will be Hybrid: 3 days onsite and 2 days offsite – no exceptions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage all health and wellness administration (e.g., enrollments, changes, terminations, beneficiary changes, plan design questions, invoice reconciliation, carrier and subscriber correspondence, retirement plan and healthcare flexible spending accounts as well as audits for Pension non-discrimination testing).
· Manage the logistics of the annual open enrollment process, manage wellness initiatives and events (e.g., walking contests, developing content for the employee Newsletter, etc.).
· Maintain leave programs (e.g., Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Family Leave and Workers' Compensation), managing requests for ADA workplace accommodations in compliance with federal law and TNJH policy; handling related compliance initiatives; assisting with new hire orientations (e.g., review of applicable TNJH policies, procedures, and benefits enrollment); collaborating with the Talent Acquisition and HRIS Teams in the development, use, and maintenance of the HRIS system regarding collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of employee information for benefits, wellness, and leave purposes.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of related policies and procedures; and creating, reviewing, and updating well-being program content & communications. (Both online and print.)
· Maintains high level of awareness of vendor partner resources/tools; routinely inspects resources and tests tools in order to make recommendations to increase their utilization among employees and their covered dependents.
· Creates and facilitates training to all employees on vendor partners’ tools/resources to increase employee engagement and education in order to maximize the value of TNJH healthcare benefits/programs.
· Provides appropriate solutions requiring research.
· Keeps abreast of industry trends relating to areas of expertise and their potential impact on TNJH plans, programs, policies and procedures.
· Routinely monitors TNJH Benefits portal page to ensure that the information is accurate and relevant to employees.
· Provides management with ad hoc research, reports, or proposal generation, as requested, to support the department function.
· Keeps Corporate Benefits leadership team apprised of any employee/covered dependent concerns or trends.
· Responds to employee benefits and well-being inquiries and resolves issues by coordinating with internal departments (e.g. Payroll and Legal) and benefit vendors to provide excellent customer service and ensure that issues are resolved.
· Participates in status/planning meetings, implementation of enhancements, and problem resolutions to maintain relationships with vendors.
· Conducts monthly audits to ensure accurate billing reconciliation and invoices processed in a timely manner.
