LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being Job Summary: The Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being will set the new standard for well-being in higher education, and education at all levels and in all settings, by applying a wide lens that includes multiple dimensions of well-being, using a framework that is inclusive of all members of the community, and creating scaffolding that establishes the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary for well-being throughout an individual’s life-course. The Financial Wellness Manager of the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-being (LeFrak Center) is an inaugural position at Barnard College. The Financial Wellness Manager will play a critical role in coordinating all financial wellness initiatives and programming for the Barnard community of students, faculty, and staff. The Financial Wellness Manager will work under the guidance of, and report to the LeFrak Center Executive Director (LeFrak ED). The Financial Wellness Manager will ensure that the strategic plan of the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Financial Wellness Program (Financial Wellness Program) moves from conceptualization to implementation on all fronts, which includes all financial wellness program planning and evaluation that is responsive to the related community needs assessment. Job Description: In conjunction with the LeFrak ED, use a data-driven approach to understanding the financial wellness needs of the Barnard College community, inclusive of students, staff, administrators and faculty. Create and implement financial wellness programming (longitudinal and single events) that comprise the College’s strategic Financial Wellness Program Work closely with the LeFrak Center Advisory Council to ensure financial wellness programming that is responsive to student, staff and faculty needs over time and as they arise more acutely; the Financial Wellness Manager will work with the LeFrak ED to communicate regularly with Human Resources and the Provost’s office in implementing programming. Develop an assessment and certificate of completion process for the College’s Financial Wellness Program, to be known as the “Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Financial Leadership and Fluency Certificate at Barnard College.” Develop Financial Wellness digital workbooks and other financial wellness resources. Create and disseminate the “Francine A. LeFrak Foundation High School Program on Financial Well-Being Financial Wellness Program” and the “Francine A. LeFrak Foundation College Program on Financial Well-Being.” Work with LeFrak ED and Communications team to support and implement a publicity and public relations plan around the Financial Wellness Program, including preparation of an internal communications column, social media and website updates. Work with the LeFrak ED, who will be advising the Chief Health Officer, Development, and the Advisory Board to create opportunities for new financial wellness programs and support for the Center. Work with the LeFrak ED and stakeholders (students, including LeFrak Student Ambassadors, staff, faculty, administration, funders) to ensure short- and long-term feedback and changes that are responsive to the financial wellness needs of the community. Work with stakeholders–Development, funders, students, including LeFrak Student Ambassadors, administrators–to ensure ongoing responsiveness to the financial wellness needs of the College community. Work with the LeFrak ED and Communications to ensure campus-wide awareness of financial wellness events and programming. Work with the LeFrak ED to ensure external dissemination of financial wellness results and successes. Work with the LeFrak ED regarding Financial Wellness Program budget management and oversight for the Financial Wellness Program. Pursue grants and funding opportunities to support the work of the Financial Wellness Program. Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: Knowledge Skills Abilities Experience with, and leadership in, creation of innovative financial wellness programming that serves diverse and inclusive communities Skills in financial wellness program planning and evaluation including supervision of financial wellness project management, qualitative and quantitative evaluation, and report generation. Experience in working with adolescents and young adults Financial wellness programming experience in an institution setting that serves several stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior administrators, trustees, donors, volunteers, and colleagues. Grant-writing and grant-management experience Superior written communication skills including the ability to create content for several audiences Effective oral communication skills and experience with logistics and planning for major financial wellness events, including but not limited to talks to large and small audiences, and facilitating panel and group discussions Experience working with community-based organization Ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion, and prioritize as needed. Superior organizational skills; ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities quickly and efficiently as circumstances dictate. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically for the short- and long-term. Demonstrated leadership skills including developing others, valuing diversity, building and maintaining relationships, influencing, and managing change. Qualifications: Masters degree Minimum 5-7 years related work experience 3 years of management/leadership experience Financial wellness program management and evaluation experience Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of, or experience within, institutions of higher education and/or in supporting a senior administrator or executive SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $80,000 As a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Council of Ivy Group Presidents (Ivy League), it is imperative that members of the Columbia University community which includes Barnard College, in all matters related to the intercollegiate athletics program, exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations.
