As the Business Development Manager for Helix Electric, you will own all aspects of identifying new accounts and maintaining existing relationships. This role will work with the operations and preconstruction teams in creating opportunities while maintaining balance between profit objectives and exceeding client expectations with solutions. This is a role for an experienced and collaborative professional with a deep understanding of electrical construction, estimating and design.
DUTIES & SCOPE:
  • Understands the critical nature of changes in the Los Angeles, California construction market including competitor news, market developments and policy changes.
  • Responsible for the development of proposals utilizing key information and facilitating the development of the bid strategy. Able to multitask as bids vary in size, scope and complexity as well as the changing of volume on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop and maintain marketing plans that fit within the HEI strategy and business plan.
  • Willingness to follow and be involved in all Helix Electric, Inc business development as a team player.
  • Able to effectively communicate to C Level Executives and decision makers expected financial outcomes and results in a timely manner Identify and develop customer relationships with current and prospective owners and general contracting customers.
  • Maximize internal and external relationships by engaging in the sales and bidding processes with consistent and concise communication ensuring long term partnerships.
  • Continue to strengthen and improve customer relationships and track progress on a monthly basis.
  • Utilize company entertainment resources as appropriate to develop relationships.
  • Attend industry association meetings as a means of networking with the customer base and other industry professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7 years of experience on the management side of electrical contracting.
  • 5 years of experience in estimating and/or project management.
  • Field Experience (Journeyman Wireman or higher) a plus.
  • BA in related field - CM, Business, Engineering a plus.
  • Personality: Personable, intelligent, detailed orientated and ambitious.
  • Character: Honest, organized, relentless, and determined.
  • DBIA accredited preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to achieve goals and/or targets with a sense of urgency, without direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts at a time.
  • Strong 'problem resolution' experience on technical issues.
  • Experience in compiling, organizing and recording critical information accurately.
  • Specific Leadership Competencies Strong customer presentation skills.
  • Passionate about Winning - Hungry for Results Intolerant to Mediocrity.
  • Able to Navigate Complex Situations Trustworthy.
  • Open to New Ideas Quick Learner Displays critical "Sense of Urgency" demeanor.
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $150,000 to 250,00.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferableskills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subjectto change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
