Business Development Representative

What does Packback do?

Packback’s mission is to help every student develop their unique voice, and the writing skills to express it.

We are a social learning platform powered by a proprietary A.I. that college professors use to help their students fall in love with the subject matter, drive personalized learning, and most importantly, quantify and improve critical thinking skills. Packback is used by more than 10,000 educators and 1.7 million students, who collectively author more than 10 million posts a year. 

How will you add value to the team?

Our BDR team focuses heavily on outbound prospecting and qualifying deals, and building the pipeline in conjunction with our Account Executives. As a BDR, you help shape the future revenue success of our company! That means your on the frontlines, engaging in deep conversations with our prospective college professor users.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Generating new sales opportunities by setting demonstrations of Packback with professors and key decision makers
  • Cold calling to potential instructors in order to generate new business and setup those demonstrations
  • Conducting email and social media outreach to prospective users
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective users to drive sales growth
  • Owning meeting scheduling, confirmation, and follow up, managing the sales process from lead generation to handing it over to Account Executives
  • Reporting progress against daily, weekly, and quarterly goals
  • Participating in our 1:1 BDR to SC mentorship program 
  • Completing a five-step certification process centered around the workflow of running a full pipeline 
  • Collaborating 1:1 with our Account Executives to implement strategic outreach initiatives at their accounts
  • Maintaining Salesforce compliance 
  • Being a lifelong learner - be willing to provide and receive feedback from team members on a regular basis, in a shared effort of furthering our individual and collective sales processes

The intention of this role:

Our intention is for you to become an expert on the Packback purpose, product, and build the foundations of professor relationships for our Revenue team as a whole. You will be a crucial part of Packback’s growth. 

Sales development is repetitive. You will spend your time importing lists, calling and emailing, and scheduling demos for our Account Executives.

Success will be tracked and monitored with the intention of ramping up your full sales skill set and creating a path for you to grow into future sales roles at Packback.

What you bring to the table:

  • 0-4 years of sales experience, preferably with SaaS technology or in a sales/customer-facing role
  • Hyper-productive mentality
  • Leadership experience - the ability to take ownership, delegate tasks, goal-oriented focus, and mindset
  • Willingness to put in the extra work - through each campaign, there will be periods where it's necessary to work more than a 40-hour work-week
  • Desire to seek out and provide feedback - we put a high emphasis on sharing knowledge and failing forward
  • Managing prospects - experience with prospecting, cold calling, tracking, and email outreach strategies
  • Strong Communication Skills - excellent verbal and written communication ability
  • Passion for the betterment of education
