About the Position:
The newly created Office of Grants Management (OGM) is looking for an Administrative Specialist III (Grade N23) to establish office procedures for OGM’s internal processes related to recruitment/employee onboarding, procurement and administrative support, budget preparation, and distributing outgoing grant agreements to nonprofits receiving Montgomery County Grants. While some in-person work is required, the position will have the option of telework for a portion of their time.

The Office of Grants Management (OGM) is seeking an Administrative Specialist who will be responsible for providing direct professional-level complex administrative, organizational and operational support to OGM. The successful candidate must be intuitive, well-organized and self-starting, have the ability to use independent judgement, tact, and discretion; have experience researching, analyzing, and making recommendations as well as enjoy establishing new processes and procedures with an eye toward efficiency and getting results.

About the Office of Grants Management (OGM):
This newly created office provides technical direction, centralized oversight and guidance to outside entities receiving County grants, and County departments seeking grants from outside agencies. Responsible to maximize the efficiency of all grants received and awarded by the County, while ensuring public transparency, ethical practice, racial equity, and social justice in grants management. This Office is responsible to develop, maintain and guide County’s grant policy and serves as advisor to the Executive Branch departments. Oversees all grants received and awarded by the County and reports activity to all stakeholders. Engages in community outreach and establishes effective working relationships with departmental administrators, managers, senior staff, representatives of public and private sector agencies, businesses, groups, and associations throughout the community.

Salary: The expected hiring salary for this position is $67,206 – $87,286.Additional Employment Information

Minimum QualificationsExperience: Three (3) years of professional administrative experience related to the needs of the Office of Grants Management.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.
Equivalency: Additional administrative, business, research and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for year basis.
Preferred CriteriaAll minimally qualified candidates will be placed on the eligible list with a status of qualified and may receive an interview invitation. The selection interview will evaluate such things as the items highlighted below. Taking the time to address these areas in your resume is recommended.
