Responsibilities

Millennium Corporation is currently seeking to hire a high performing and proactive Senior Business Development Manager for its corporate office in Arlington, VA or Huntsville, Alabama. The candidate will work in a hybrid capacity. 

The position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Strategy and Campaigns and work collaboratively with the executive team to identify and shape current and emerging market growth opportunities. 

The Senior Business Development Manager will:

  • Build and maintain client relationships to meet and exceed qualified pipeline, proposal throughput and new work sales objectives.
  • Ensure accurate and complete information is captured in our customer services management system.
  • Develop and maintain a large network of business, consultant and other contacts.
  • Represent Millennium as our foremost domain expert during customer meetings, industry events, and partner with our lead for marketing and branding to support programs and events.
  • Identify and propose current or future opportunities in alignment with Millennium’s campaign strategy and 5-year business goal forecast.
  • Support the Sr. Director of Strategy and Campaigns in their efforts to build an opportunity pipeline that is optimized for P-win.
  • Identify and Qualify opportunities and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Serve as an authoritative voice of the customer in support of opportunity qualification, position-to-win initiatives, capture management, and proposal operations.
  • Gather background information on the current operational environment, including customer hot buttons, pain points, and desired solution outcomes.
  • Provide insight into organizational budgets and funding forecasts both through legislative and executive branch engagements.
  • Formulate position-to-win action plans that accelerate Phase 2 qualification and increase the success rate of Gate 3 (Purse/No Pursue) decisions.
  • Conduct continuous assessment of Millennium’s Corporate Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.
  • Provide insight and recommendations that improve our Program Operations team effort for expansion and on-contract growth.
  • Provide insight and recommendations that inform our innovation and technology roadmap efforts to position future services and solutions for long-range campaign plan priorities.
  • Support the development of Win Themes and Customer Value Proposition statements that align with position-to-win objectives and shape our storyboarding and proposal activities.
  • Support Gate Reviews with information and analysis that enable data-driven decisions, while continuously supporting risk mitigation and management efforts.
  • Present critical company data during executive and leadership meetings, including: Board of Directors, Board of Advisors, Monthly Corporate Business Reviews, Quarterly Off-sites, Strategic Steering Committee, Millennium Growth Committee, and other meetings, as required.
  • Identify, facilitate, and champion go-to-market industry partnerships that produce turn-key teaming agreements, which promote our ability to deliver our services and solutions at scale within a competitive, full and open environment.
  • Analyze and continuously improve existing policies and procedures, which advances our concept of operations to incorporate a strategic decision-making and governance process that ensures desired results are repeatable and scalable.
  • Assess return-on-investment, risk, and cost/benefit impacts of proposed strategic investment requests aimed at accelerating growth.
  • Maintain a mission-first mindset and function as a unifying force on our team that is singularly focused on driving value to our customers.
  • Develop, manage, motive, and support the retention of key Business Development staff.
  • Obtain initial competitor intelligence and threats to improve win themes and concepts.
  • Support the Director of Lifecycle Management and Quality (as required) to support Gate Reviews and process management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a similar field.
  • 15 years of proven track record in senior military and government civilian engagements with key contacts list, demonstrating the capacity to communicate at the strategic government level.
  • Experience managing large, complex programs/project tied to budgetary growth or efficiency.
  • Experience developing and driving series of proactive actions to improve business.
  • Confident communicator who has experience working with customer senior leadership and leveraging access into deal making and building long term, sustainable business strategies and deals.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven track record for driving enterprise strategies.
  • Must possess a current security clearance at the required level or be eligible to obtain.

Business Development

Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% of travel as required.
