We are currently seeking two Business Development Managers to join our team.
FMP is a growing consulting firm, focused on building upon our already strong reputation providing innovative and thoughtful client service across the federal government for more than 30 years. We have long-standing client relationships, robust services and capabilities, and a talented and passionate workforce. We are looking to significantly enhance our business development capabilities by bringing in seasoned professionals with the expertise and passion to push our growth into the future. These individuals will help to drive our Growth team, partnered with FMP leadership and subject matter experts from across our workforce, across the full range of strategic capture and proposal-related activities. We are looking for motivated and growth-oriented individuals who thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and enjoy collaborating and contributing to a high-performing team.
As a Business Development Manager at FMP, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Drive opportunities from capture decision to contract award, managing bid strategies and overseeing the development of the technical, management and cost strategies and associated proposal volumes
  • Coordinate timely production and submission of proposals, concept papers, and related correspondence to customers, to include project management plans, competitive assessments, technical volumes, past performance, staffing plans, pricing volumes, and required forms
  • Identify the need or benefits of teaming partners and the associated oversight of required agreements, develop teaming strategy, negotiate teaming agreements and foster relationships with federal teammates and government stakeholders
  • Represent FMP capabilities and previous work during partner meetings, industry days, and outreach to acquisition professionals and develop and maintain partner relationships and knowledge of capabilities and vehicles
  • Research, track, and communicate business development opportunities in collaboration with FMP's Management Team and using MS Dynamics Sales CRM, the Federal Procurement Database System (FPDS), Bloomberg Government, and other sources of information
  • Be part of a high-performance culture that values client service, autonomy, and collaboration
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in business development and contract negotiations with an understanding of the process (Request for Information, Request for Proposals) to include Federal contract vehicles
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferred in Business or related area
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Familiarity and experience with U.S. government RFP websites and systems, including FedBizOpps, sam.gov, and others.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges, ability to take initiative and work independently with strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and analysis, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Close attention to detail and the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
  • Excellent and effective written and oral communications skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds at all levels within their organizations
  • Experience using a CRM system
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Demonstrated skill in:
    • Being attentive to detail
    • Effective communication (oral and written)
    • Developing positive, professional relationships
    • Report writing and document preparation
    • Using Microsoft Office 365 Applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Problem solving; analysis; critical thinking
    • Balancing multiple priorities and tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Management and Strategic Human Capital consulting
  • Experience with metrics, reporting, and use of PowerBI (or similar data visualization tools)
  • Experience with 508 compliance and accessibility within the Microsoft Office and Adobe environment
  • Certified Capture Manager (CCMâ„¢) Certification a plus
