MICHAEL R JEFFCOAT ATTORNEY AT LAW is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Columbia, SC

Description:

As the HR Generalist at The Jeffcoat Firm you'll support the Human Resources department with general HR functions including benefits, leave administration, and payroll. The HR Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Requirements:
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Support with benefits orientations and explain the benefits self-enrollment system to new employees.
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in the payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.
  • Assist HR Director in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life, and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new-hire, and absentee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory, and other requested reports as needed.
  • Assist HR Director in completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requirements.
  • Track and verify all FMLA Leaves and Accommodation Requests.
  • Updates employees on their rights and responsibilities with FMLA, PWFA, ADA, and LOAs offered at the Firm.
  • Updates processes and procedures as they relate to leave requests.
  • Inform the HR Director of any pending LOA requests.
  • Keep accurate records of leave of absence status in HRIS system.
  • Support with the bi-weekly payroll process.
  • Ensure employee bonuses are being paid in accordance with the policy.
  • Support with annual compensation review and increases.
  • Perform day-to-day HR administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, processing documentation, updating HR databases/employee files, and supporting with general HR functions.
