Key Responsibilities:
Continuously monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activities, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, evaluate market potential, and pinpoint new business opportunities.
Vet and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of leads and opportunities are explored and developed.
Proactively hunt for new business opportunities, including partnerships, alliances, and new market segments to enter.
Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve short and long-term goals.
Analyze competitive landscape and devise strategies to outperform competitors.
Recommend where to invest capital for the best return on investment, including but not limited to new technologies, market expansion, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to ensure strategic alignment and execution of business development initiatives.
Prepare and present compelling business cases to senior management, outlining strategy, ROI, and implementation plans for new business opportunities.
Prepare and present reports on progress, goals, and roadblocks to the senior management team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 4 yrs of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role in the logistics or transportation industry.
Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough market research and convert insights into actionable business strategies.
Exceptional skills in monitoring market trends and translating them into actionable insights and strategies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities.
