Overview:

Lhoist is seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to provide support to our Accounts Payable Department. The successful candidate will process accounts payable transactions, review and process invoices and check requests, reconcile payments, and monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions in an accurate and timely manner, with strict consideration of internal controls
• Prepare and process accounts payable payments
• Review and process invoices and check requests
• Set invoices up for payment
• Identify and resolve invoice differences and inaccurate vendor/pricing information

List of Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Familiarity with automated accounts payable system
• Knowledge of SAP computer applications
• General understanding of the purpose and mechanics of accounting
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical ability
• Proficient in data entry
• Strong time management skills
• Cooperative and personable in a high-volume work environment
• Emphasis on human relations skills and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle vendor inquiries concerning discrepancies
• Must work well with others within and outside the Finance Department
• Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs
• Work well with vendors and plant personnel regarding invoice differences, pricing, missing/incorrect purchase order numbers, etc.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma (Required)
• Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or equivalent proven work experience in the field (Preferred)
