A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PASTRY CHEF
As a Pastry Chef, you start each day by masterfully crafting together the finest of ingredients to create taste-bud-tantalizing pastries and cakes. Supervise the LGO Bakeshop Pastry & Cake team to ensure recipes are executed properly and according to standards.
The Pastry Chef is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the pastry department as determined by the Executive Pastry Chef. This includes: providing leadership and training in the creation and production of superior food products; increasing productivity and quality standards, ensuring proper food handling practices; and providing ongoing direction and supervision to all the pastry staff.
Continually research new methods, recipes and products to create cutting edge ideas for implementation. Present new menu items and culinary information to all necessary parties.
Pastry Chef will prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, batters, buttercreams, gelato, pastries, laminated doughs, French macarons, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes according to LGO Bakeshop & Cake Shop standards.
With great attention to detail, execute recipes accurately and with pride. Whether you are baking for our wholesale or walk-in customers, it is clear that you care about your work. You prepare and oversee the preparations of yours and teams' stations by supporting and executing prepping and stocking any necessary ingredients and tools. Because we never want to run out, you monitor inventory levels and equipment and report any issues to management. Get ready to bake delightful treats that our customers will savor!
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Do you have an upbeat personality? Are you able to prioritize duties and multitask to meet deadlines? Can you take direction and participate as part of a team to provide outstanding customer service? Would you enjoy working in a fast-paced bakery? If so, we want to meet you!
