KTVAECU is Hiring a Human Resources Intern Near Knoxville, TN

**This is a ten week summery internship with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:45pm (40 hours per week)**

We can achieve these goals through our commitment to providing excellent service to our membership and our communities. And it all starts with YOU! We are looking for a service-minded individual to join our team as a temporary ten-week Human Resources intern.

About Us:

Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is a not-for-profit, Member-owned, and locally operated financial institution serving the financial needs of its communities of Membership. We have 25 locations throughout East Tennessee and we serve more than 277,000 Members. The Credit Union helps Members grow financially by offering a variety of accounts including: checking, savings and investments. Also offered are competitive loan rates on new and used autos and recreational vehicles, mortgages, personal loans and credit cards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Recruiting functions:

  • Assist in reviewing employment applications.
  • Conduct phone screen interviews.
  • Conduct reference checks on selected applicants.

Payroll, Benefits and HRIS functions:

  • Learn about the payroll cycle.
  • Learn about employee benefits, enrollments, terminations, billing.
  • Learn about HRIS system and functions.

Personnel Compliance:

  • Scan documents to electronic personnel files.
  • Verification of documents in electronic personnel files.
  • Help maintain personnel files according to Human Resources Department procedures.

Other Projects:

  • Perform assigned duties as specified by the Chief People Officer, Human Resources Director, Human Resources Manager or Payroll, Benefits, & HRIS Manager.

Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.

Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior and performance).

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Work cooperatively with others.

All other duties as assigned.

STUDENT INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES

As the student intern enters the Credit Union, they are expected to assume, as much as possible, the role of a regular staff member. The responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work cooperatively with others.
  • Adhering to Credit Union policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information. Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with Credit Union employees, members and so forth.
  • Utilizing a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession.
  • Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the Credit Union setting.
  • Developing a self-awareness regarding attitudes, values, behavior patterns, and so forth that influence work.
  • Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor and faculty coordinator.
  • Providing the Human Resources Manager with periodic progress reports.
