Position Title: Sous Chef (Pizza Focus)

Job Summary: The Sous Chef plays a key role in the kitchen, assisting the head chef in all pizza-related operations. They are responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and timely preparation of pizzas while adhering to the restaurant's standards. This position requires excellent culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional pizza experiences for customers.

Responsibilities:

1. Pizza Preparation:

   • Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to established recipes and standards.
   • Stretch and shape dough, ensuring proper thickness and consistency.
   • Apply toppings evenly and creatively, maintaining high presentation standards.
   • Monitor oven temperatures and cooking times to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection.

2. Quality Control:

   • Conduct regular inspections of ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety regulations.
   • Monitor portion sizes and presentation to meet company standards.

3. Kitchen Operations:

   • Assist in managing kitchen operations, including ordering ingredients, inventory management, and kitchen sanitation.
   • Collaborate with the head chef to develop new pizza recipes and seasonal menu offerings.

4. Team Leadership:

   • Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

5. Customer Service:

   • Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working as a pizza chef or sous chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• In-depth knowledge of pizza dough preparation, sauce making, and pizza assembly techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.
• Creative flair and passion for culinary excellence.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education and Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institute (preferred).
• Food Handler's Permit or equivalent certification (required).
