Job Description

Job Title: East Small Format Key Account Manager - Convenience Channel

Department: Sales/Key Accounts

Reports To Title: Director of Key Accounts

Location: Remote

Exemption: Salary P2

Summary of the Job:

Position is remote

This candidate will be responsible for driving sales and distribution across the convenience. This Key Account Manager must possess the ability to develop and flawlessly execute plans and have established relationships with the major customers in this channel.

The ideal candidate will need to be an experienced salesperson with expertise in the beverage industry. They will need to be able to work with key customer stakeholders and store level personnel. Additionally, this person should understand the structure and go market strategy of key retailers in the convenience channel.

The successful candidate must utilize and display their selling ability, business acumen, and leadership. They must operate with a blend of structure/discipline and flexibility/nimbleness.

Successful candidates will be required to embrace The Guayakí / Yerba Mate Co.'s strategy, bring an in-depth understanding of the beverage business and markets to grow Guayakí' s distribution across all retail channels.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Area 1 (80% of time)

  • Develop & execute strategic sales/distribution plans with customers to drive market share and revenue growth.
  • Embody the Guayakí Mission, Vision and Values
  • Build and manage relationships at the division/market/business consultant/store levels in key retailers
  • Prepare fact-based business reviews and selling presentations for customer meetings leveraging all data sources available (syndicated, account level, etc.)
  • Analyze both internal and external sales reports, syndicated data & category insights to identify opportunities and make strategic business decisions.
  • Work closely with our direct store delivery teams to ensure execution of new distribution and promotional activity.
  • Work with the Director of Sales to build annual objectives and provide monthly updates on progress against the plan.
  • Develop and ensure execution against national and regional chain mandates and authorizations in conjunction with YMCO.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to update accounts on business, channel competition, and identify opportunities.
  • Be in the field 75% of the time working with stores and account business consultants directly
  • Conduct store rides with store rides with business consultants
  • Attend tradeshow/vendor meeting and be able to present to key decision makers

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None for this position

Qualifications:

A working knowledge of DSD (direct store delivery) beverage experience is ideal.

Demonstrated proven success in sales and account management growth in a customer / consumer facing business.

Ability to develop and implement customer plans that deliver results

The ability to thrive in a highly competitive field sales environment

Thorough knowledge of sales, marketing, planning, business analytics

Must be able to work independently and be able to travel up to 40%.

Must have a reliable vehicle and smart phone

  • Degree or Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 3-5 years of related Key Account experience, established relationships with key customer key decision makers; A working knowledge of DSD (direct store delivery) beverage experience is ideal.

Demonstrated proven success in sales and account management growth in a customer / consumer facing business.

Ability to implement, develop, track, and monitor customer plans that deliver results

Experience building, presenting, and implementing programming

The ability to thrive in a highly competitive field sales environment

Strong negotiation skills

Must be able to work independently and be able to be in the field 75% of the time

Travel up to 20% of the time

Must have a reliable vehicle and smart phone

  • Certifications:
  • Computer/Language/Analytical or other Skills
  • Experience in predictive modelling and forecasting
  • Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office expert
  • The ability to work autonomously in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and act independently.

Competencies, Attributes, or other Knowledge for Success in this Role:

  • Preferred experience in working with a natural/organic consumable product
  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve.
  • Self-starter who desires to discover trends and find actionable information.

Physical Demands, Travel and Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: ability to lift 15lbs.
  • Travel Requirements: 20 - 30%
  • Work Environment: This is a full-time, remote position and is available to anyone in the US
