ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title:Senior Accountant 

Hiring Manager: Assistant Controller

Employment: Full-time

Location: New York, NY (2-3 days/week in office)

Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join as a Senior Accountant in our Finance Department. The ideal candidate must bring a strong sense of commitment to this role. The Senior Accountant role will report to the Assistant Controller. The role will support the financial operations of the Company focusing on the finance operations. This role focuses on areas of complexity, financial analysis and reporting, special projects as needed, and continuously looking for opportunities to scale and improve processes and automate enabled by cross training on all critical components of finance operations. The role requires a proven ability to apply accounting and finance knowledge to improve or implement new procedures with a strong mix of analytical, reporting, and financial modeling experience. The ideal candidate would have strong problem solving and technical accounting skills with the ability to research and document GQG’s position, policy, and conclusions. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Manage all aspects of accounting for global revenue 
• Support Assistant Controller with other aspects of close 
• Prepare (and in some cases review) journal entries, areas and workpapers 
• Engage and manage auditors on audit status
• Prepare and / or perform first level review of Financial Statements
• Draft thorough variance analysis explanation
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Ability to achieve deadlines and plan effectively across multiple time zones.
• Identify areas where process improvement is possible and suggest strategies to enhance efficiency 
• Undertake special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven work experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role; at an asset management firm is a plus.
• CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management. 
• 2 or more years in public accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to communicate and manage a variety of stakeholders across the organization.
