The Foodbank of Southern California had been providing food to impoverished children, families, and seniors residing in Los Angeles County since 1975 and we are committed to fighting hunger, one meal at a time in our local communities.
Position Overview:
The Administrative Assistant works closely with providing managers and coworkers support to ensure efficiency, including day to day administrative duties of the organization. This position will incorporate the responsibilities of a receptionist, including being the first point of contact to our charitable organizations, guests, vendors, and the public. Professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy are critical. Customer service and great people skills are vital.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Administrative support across the organization. You will welcome guests, clients, and volunteers who visit the Foodbank. You will also coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls.
· The individual should have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and be multi-task oriented; must be able to work independently and have general knowledge of office procedures.
· Monitor lobby/visitor access and maintains security awareness.
· Operates a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
· Organizes schedules, books travel arrangements, creates agendas for meetings/conferences, take meeting minutes, transcribe phone calls, distribute memos/company correspondence, order/stock office supplies, maintain spreadsheets, improve administrative processes.
· Committed to and understand the Foodbank of Southern California’s mission. This includes active participation in sharing the mission, vision, and values of the organization, internally and externally, and creating a culture of active philanthropy for and with all staff.
· All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Acceptance and commitment to Foodbank of Southern California’s values, mission and vision
· High school diploma/GED required, Associates Degree or 2 years of college preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Excellent oral and written communication skills; Proper phone and front office etiquette
· Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a diverse environment with people of various educational, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds and ages.
· Positive, cheerful, and professional demeanor with meticulous organization skills, concentration, and task-oriented mindset

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
