Account Executive – FirstMile Sales


Who We Are:

FirstMile, is an e-commerce parcel carrier with a great company culture. Our unique approach allows small, medium, and even large e-commerce shippers to get the best combination of price and service across a wide network of United States Post Office workshare partners–including our own.
Job Overview:
The Account Executive position supports the company on all aspects of First Mile’s sales efforts including but not limited to:

  • Prospecting for new customers in person, over the phone, via email and via social media campaigns;
  • Meeting with clients in person or over Teams/Zoom etc. to learn about the client’s business and find ways that FirstMile can add value to win their business;
  • Negotiating Pricing Agreements with clients and internally with our Pricing Team;
  • Onboarding Clients including getting credit set up;
  • Retaining Clients by helping them manage and resolve the issues that will arise in e-commerce transportation and logistics. Our Account Executives’ responsibilities extend as required to successfully acquire, manage and retain our customers’ shipping spend long term.

    Job Details:

    • Pay: Base salary $50k to $70k DOE plus uncapped commissions
      • While we offer competitive base pay packages, the bulk of the Account Executive compensation will come from our Sales Commission Program in which we share a split of customer margins with the Account Executive.
    • Location: Remote but strong preference for location in Salt Lake City, UT
    • Work Type: Hybrid preferred; Full-Time, 40 hours a week

    • Be a business partner: Foster the client relationship through personal communication and involvement and help to identify opportunities for business growth.
    • Be consultative: Participate in ongoing education opportunities so that you can maintain your status as an expert in the ecommerce shipping space.
    • Be collaborative: Work with management to support winning the highest caliber customers and actively participate in creating a system that sustains client morale, commitment, and retention.


    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years of a proven successful track record in eCommerce Sales role
    • Demonstrated track record of process orientation and success in eCommerce sales roles.
    • Technical Skills with Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, Teams/Zoom and other systems
    • Strong planning, organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
    • Strong negotiation techniques
    • Computer literacy, Warehouse management Systems and Transportations Management Systems (WMS/TMS) experience a plus, experience in 3PL warehouse and or eCommerce transportation environment preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of small parcel carriers (UPS. FedEx, OnTrac, Lasership etc.) and or USPS Mail Products is a plus

      Physical Requirements:

      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear.
      • The Account Executive may be required to spend extended periods of time sitting and standing. They may be required to use their hands and fingers to operate computer and telephone.
