Human Resources Generalist
Job Purpose
Perform human resource related duties in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, policy implementation, employment law compliance, staffing/recruiting, and other administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Job Duties
· Function as point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries and concerns, and providing guidance on HR matters.
· Responsible for all aspects related to onboarding including updating, maintaining, and ensuring all requirements are met.
· Conduct new hire orientations.
· Assist in administrative areas to support overall department heads regarding benefits, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management productivity and acquisition, recognition and morale, and occupational health and safety.
· Administer leave of absence, disability, and PTO requests.
· Responsible for recruiting; maintaining an active database of recruiting contacts and events such as job fairs.
· Coordinate and support employee performance appraisals.
· Handle sensitive employee information with a high degree of discretion.
· Participate in payroll duties, annual review, and administration of company benefits.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
· SHRM-CP is a plus.
· 3-5 plus years of experience in a HR Generalist role with exposure to performance management, benefits administration, payroll, and recruitment is required.
· Demonstrated understanding of standard HR policies and procedures.
· Understanding of relevant Federal, State, and local employment/labor laws.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Highly organized and service-oriented team player.
· Strong communication skills with ability to build trust.
Work Environment
· Work mainly in an office environment, however, will be in a manufacturing setting from time to time.
· May be required to lift up to 25 pounds as items are delivered to front office.
