A casual family of four with homes in San Francisco and Bolinas is looking for a talented Private Sous Chef to join their team. The chef will work under the direction of the Executive Private Chef and prepare lunch and dinner daily for the family and cook for staff, house guests, and frequent casual dinner parties. The family loves to host and frequently at the last minute, so chefs should be flexible and amenable to change. Prepare for the unexpected; our client is hyper-spontaneous!

Our client appreciates a range of healthy, global cuisines. Ideal candidates will be flexible with their schedule, professional, and easy-going. A forward thinker who is always one step ahead will excel in this role! After an initial interview, qualified candidates will be invited for trial days and paid for the tastings.

• Full-time | live-out
• Typically, a four-day work week | Thursday-Sunday
• Start Date: mid-January (or sooner for the right candidate)
• Local candidates only!

Duties:

Under the direction of the family's Executive Private Chef:

• Creating a variety of menus based on the season and preferences of family members and guests
• Creating plant-based meals and dishes with animal protein for other guests
• Grocery shopping for all food and kitchen supplies
• Responsible for keeping a clean and organized kitchen throughout the meal preparation process
• Purchase supplies for other homes as needed
• Purchase gifts and wine for friends and guests
• Responsible for leaving the kitchen immaculate after mealtimes
• Organize the kitchen, and stock the pantry
• Chef should have a keen understanding of food and kitchen sanitation

Requirements:

• Candidates should be local to the Bay Area
• Must have at least five years of luxury restaurant experience, private cooking experience would be a bonus
• Able to work a flexible schedule, depending on the schedule and needs of the family
• Must be able to willingly accommodate the needs of the family- holiday work required
• Able to work legally in the United States
• Must be able to pass an in-depth background investigation
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must have a valid passport
• Looking for candidates with a GREAT attitude who are able to interact professionally and pleasantly with the family and other team members – and know professional boundaries

Compensation:

• $120,000-$140,000 | DOE
