We also promote a healthy work/life balance. The Department of Court Facilities, Division of Capital Construction has an immediate need for a Capital Construction Manager is based in Franklin County. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB: Core Responsibilities include operational and management. Position is responsible for overseeing new construction and major renovations projects that have been authorized for occupancy of the KCOJ. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS CLASSIFICATION:
Recommend KCOJ negotiating positions and successfully manage renovations, repairs, and construction projects for KCOJ facilities located throughout the state.
Act as liaison between the AOC and local unit of governments and elected officials and staff to advise on policies, procedures, and requirements with issues related to facilities occupied by the KCOJ.
Ensure implementation and compliance of Facilities and Policies and KCOJ Administrative Procedures.
Identifies and coordinates assessments of KCOJ occupied facilities.
Oversight of day-to-day duties of Facilities Capital Construction staff which includes all documentation relating to construction/renovation projects as well as any changes to the projects.
Assign projects to Capital Construction staff.
Conduct regular staff update meetings.
Recommendation of corrective actions or changes to KCOJ occupied facilities.
Assist Court officials, County officials, and Professional Service Providers in resolving facility related issues.
Review Building Plans, Construction documents and specifications for KCOJ program accuracy.
Attend monthly/weekly progress meetings at construction sites when necessary.
Attend Project Development Board meetings related to court facilities projects and the construction of Judicial Centers across the state.
Ensure KCOJ compliance with contractual obligations, rules, and regulations.
Obtaining and overseeing professional services contract requirements and establishing performance specifications to managing the competitive bid process.
Understand and apply Capital Construction principles/practices including KCOJ property management and contract administration.
Read, interpret, and understand KCOJ contract documents, policies, ordinances, surveys, construction drawings, grant assurances, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in related field
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 4 years of related experience
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associate Degree w/ 3 years’ experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Architectural and/or MEP Engineering experience preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
Extensive travel throughout the state may be required. Some overnight stays may be required.
