The Kentucky Court of Justice (KCOJ) is looking for a senior-level professional with branch or agency budget experience for the Deputy Budget Director position.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepares the KCOJ annual budget; assembles preliminary and final budget document, reviews departmental budget submittals and makes recommendations.
  • Monitors expenditure and revenue activity monthly.
  • Ensures that expenditures are appropriate and in compliance with budgetary and legal requirements.
  • Oversees all aspects of KCOJ grants including grant applications, budgets, and compliance.
  • Assists in revenue projection and analysis; assists in developing and maintaining expenditure and revenue forecasts.
  • Assists with preparation of the judicial branch budget bill and judicial branch budget recommendation.
  • Participates in budget hearings; may present the budget to the Supreme Court; may testify before the General Assembly.
  • Assists in the development and administration of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of systems and forms for use in budgeting operations.
  • Interprets and applies related laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 4 years of professional experience in governmental budgeting
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree, CPA (certified public accountant) or CGFM (certified government financial manager) may substitute for one year of the general experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Master’s degree in related field, CPA or CGFM preferred

Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Travel may be required
