Cohen Industrial Supply is Hiring a Sales Manager Near Houston, TX

Summary/Objective:

As a Sales Manager at Cohen, you will be responsible for driving our company’s revenue growth by leading and motivating a high-performing sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets. This pivotal role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, as well as leading, managing, and motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional with a proven track record in sales leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly coach, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Representatives, Project Managers, Estimators, and Drafters to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to foster a positive and high-performance work environment.
  • Set clear performance expectations, regularly assess individual and team performance, and provide constructive feedback. Address performance issues promptly and implement corrective measures when needed.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources in the recruitment process by identifying talent, conducting interviews, and contributing to the selection of new team members. Develop and deliver effective training programs to onboard and continuously educate the sales team.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Identify and support opportunities for professional growth and development for each team member. Encourage continuous learning and skill enhancement to foster a high-performing team.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Generate regular reports on sales performance, individual achievements, and key metrics. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of team activities, sales pipelines, and customer interactions.
  • Contribute to the development and management of sales budgets. Monitor expenses, track performance against budgetary goals, and provide input for future budget planning.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coach, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Representatives, Project Managers, Estimators, and Drafters to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue and profit growth.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review performance, set goals, and share updates.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the sales department.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including market research and competitor analysis.
  • Manage key client relationships and establish effective communication channels.
  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to the executive team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in sales leadership with a minimum of two years in a managerial role.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving business growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field, OR
  • Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
  • At least three years of sales experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Overnight travel will be required
