Ciena Healthcare Management is Hiring a Human Resources Manager (Float) Near Southfield, MI

This position will provide HR support, training and back-up services for field Human Resources Coordinators. Position will require extensive travel to and possible overnight stays primarily to nursing home facilities throughout the state of Michigan, and may include some travel to Ohio. This position will be required to provide short-term, intermittent, and/or targeted training, support, and backup services for field Human Resources Coordinators on their areas of responsibility noted below

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Recruitment Efforts as needed
  • Conduct first interview
  • Completes offer letters of employment for new hires
  • Initiate and follow up on onboarding with new hires through the ATS
  • Assists Department Managers and Administrator with employee retention planning.
  • Assists with fair and consistent application of the Facility Employee Handbook and policies.
  • If applicable, Union contract interpretation and application.
  • Assists with ensuring Facility follow-up and timely closing of HR “hotline” concerns
  • Employee Problem Resolution Process is being followed and report results
  • Worker’s Compensation and injury reports – reviews for accuracy and completion
  • Benefit enrollment for new hires and annual enrollment.
  • Conducts all C.O.B.R.A. related functions.
  • FMLA administration and follow up.
  • Ensure Managers are completing timely annual performance evaluations
  • Maintain Nursing License and CNAs Certification book to ensure all licenses, certification, and registrations are active and up to date
  • Completes termination paperwork timely.
  • Respond to and follows up with unemployment claims; attends hearings as necessary
  • Provide support to Corporate Human Resources Department in areas of global recruiting, HR Audits, implementing Corporate HR initiatives, and other general HR matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Associates Degree with 5 years of experience in an HR Coord/Mgr capacity, or
  • Minimum Bachelor in HR or BSA with concentration in HR.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in the long term care setting.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred, but not required.
