Chicken Salad Chick has an opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join the Finance Team. This role will be responsible for leading the accounting team of four and driving key accounting processes and close activity. The Assistant Controller will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Controller and CFO on strategic projects as well as entity-wide process and control improvements.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·Supervise staff and senior accountants as well as accounts payable staff

·Oversee and ensure timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices using a third-party processor and support accounts payable staff in investigating and resolving billing discrepancies

·Prepare journal entries, maintain reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, and drive close procedures

·Perform variance analysis and identify drivers behind budget variances and period to period changes

·Identify and implement scalable process and control improvements

·Assist Controller and wider finance team with strategic projects such as systems implementation, etc.

·Assist Controller in preparation and coordination for various audits

·Perform AP software maintenance and assist Controller in other software maintenance

·Any other duties as assigned by Controller and CFO

·Advanced analytical, critical thinking and process reengineering skills

·Outstanding communication (written and verbal), presentation, time management, and organizational skills

·Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

·Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred

Education and Experience

·Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

·Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience depending on background

·CPA certification a plus (not required)

·Prior experience with accounts payable including solid understanding of relevant processes and controls

·Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products required

·Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred

·Experience managing projects as well as process development and reengineering

·Outstanding communication (written & verbal), presentation, time management, and organizational skills

·Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills driven by a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
