Director, Assistant Controller

Cantaloupe, Inc. (Nasdaq: Ticker Symbol CTLP) (Cantaloupe), a leading company in digital payments and software services, that provides end-to-end technology solutions for the unattended retail market is searching for a dynamic accounting professional to join our growing and evolving finance and accounting team.

This position will report to the Controller and work closely with the CAO, CFO, other finance and accounting leaders and support various department heads. The Director, Assistant Controller is a key member of the Accounting and Finance Leadership team and will play a vital role in overseeing the corporate accounting function.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Manage monthly, quarterly, year-end close process ensuring timeliness and accuracy of reporting. This includes journal entries, adjusting entries, maintenance of the general ledger (NetSuite) and the associated sub-ledgers, internal financial reporting, and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Ensure all company financial records are properly maintained and that all accounting and internal financial reporting are in compliance with US GAAP
• Review financial results, identify, research and report variances, and provide executive leadership with information that enhances their understanding of the financial results.
• Evaluate current processes and suggest, implement and refine policies and procedures to optimize efficiencies related to close activities.
• Responsible for, along with the Controller, providing ongoing, timely, candid and constructive feedback to junior members of the accounting function
• Assist in the coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audits client requests from both internal and external auditors
• Assist with management of SOX program and manage compliance with internal controls related to accounting processes
• Coordinate and lead internal team meetings, as necessary
• Support the executive team with ad hoc requests and special projects, particularly in support of key business items and strategic priorities

What makes you a great candidate: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s degree is preferred 
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required 
• 8 years of experience in corporate accounting related role(s)
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Proven and demonstrable ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Experience in managing multiple staff personnel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical reasoning skills
