Title: Business Development Representative

Location: Dallas Facility

Travel: 10%

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for identifying prospects and developing new leads for the sales organization. The BDR may also interact with existing customers, primarily virtually by phone and video conference, to increase sales of Tellabs products and services. Additionally, the BDR will do research using several resources, such as RFP portals, ZoomInfo, Tellabs Website, Business Journals or other similar resources based on Business Development’s guidance and primary targets.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Actively assist the marketing team in creating marketing strategies and tactics that will drive sales
  • Develop and utilize prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospective customers
  • Create targeted vertical campaigns utilizing marketing lead lists, market analysis and buyer intent data
  • Implements tools sequences, leverage LinkedIn and other calling/appointment setting strategies to follow up on leads
  • Initiate contact with potential customers through cold-calling or responding to inquiries generated from marketing initiatives.
  • Create relationships with customers to identify the needs and challenges of prospects and qualify interest and viability to drive sales.
  • Present high level product information and value to customers
  • Overcome technical and business objections of potential clients
  • Move qualified leads through the sales funnel, connecting them to the appropriate sales account team members, and arranging in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls
  • Identify follow on opportunities through existing business accounts
  • Attend tradeshows and events to share our value proposition, products, and services.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly and monthly sales leads and future business prospects
  • Report to Business Development Director on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales target results

Requirements:

  • Experience selling complex networking solutions and services
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to adjust your sales approach as needed
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Good time management and analytical skills
  • Highly self-motivated, disciplined with a “can do” attitude
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with Social Media Platforms
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other sales related field, technical field and or equivalent directly related experience
  • 3-5 year’s experience in outbound sales and business development

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with outbound sales and marketing tools such as HubSpot, Outreach, ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • 5 Years outbound sales experience
