Boston Public Health Commission is Hiring a Human Resources Internship Near Boston, MA

The Human Resources Office serves as partner in supporting the mission of the Boston Public Health Commission. Our services include the recruitment and staffing of qualified applicants into a diverse workforce, adnministration of employee payroll and benefits, employee relations, policy development, and administration; and advising Commission management on human resource related matters. The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to participate in all HR functions, including candidate interviews, policy discussions, payroll review and submission, and employee relations. Intern will be part of the pallning and will participate in Human Resources events including internal and external job fairs.
KEY LEARNINGS
Talent Acquisition
  • Review resumes and screen candidates for Talent Acquisition
  • Process new hire paperwork and attend New Hire Onboarding sessions
  • Participate on HR planning team and attend internal and expternal job fairs and career events
Employee Relations
  • Participate in policy discussions to develop employee relationsh and compliance knowledge
Payroll
  • Review and enter eTime information with payroll coordinator
Benefits
  • Learn about employee benefits, accommodations, and leaves (FMLA and others)
