Are you committed to making a positive impact and serving your community? Victim Services is looking for a Victim Notification Assistant who can demonstrate their administrative expertise and skills as a member of a collaborative team that helps victims of crime.
Under the direct supervision of the Victim Services Administrator, the Victim Notification Assistant is responsible for providing accurate written and/or verbal information and notification of offender release status to crime victims and law enforcement agencies pursuant to AZ Rev Statutes and Department Orders. This position requires knowledge of victims' rights and mandated services; must exercise considerable care and confidentiality when carrying out duties; be able to interpret data from ACIS (Arizona Case Information System), court and other legal documents and apply a variety of rules and policies, victims' rights statutes, departmental policies and procedures to interpret eligible release dates. This position may respond to inquiries from victims, attorneys, courts and other law enforcement agencies regarding the legal status of offenders.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

- Responding to inquires relating to classification, release dates, victim's rights and the criminal justice system
- Providing resources and referrals as needed
- Entering data and updating information on AIMS and victim Services Database related to Victims' Status and Address Changes.
- Notifies proper personal of Return to Custody inmates, release dates, inmate death, name change
- Assisting Administrator with composing correspondence on a wide variety of subjects
- Research and compiles reports, letters, inquiries and policy updates
- Manages supervisor calendar
- Sets deadlines
- Supervise subordinate staff
- Researches material and gathers data for special projects
- Maintains inventory control
- Develops or modifies procedures and forms
- Interprets and explains organizational rules, regulations and department orders
- Attends meetings
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
