AMERICAN TRUCKING ASSOCIATIONS is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Washington, DC

The American Trucking Associations (ATA), the nation’s leading trade and lobby association representing the trucking industry, is currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator.This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in entering the HR field. This is a part of a full-service Human Resources team that supports over 150 employees. Someone who likes to solve problems and work closely with others would be a great fit! We are searching for someone who is innovative and able to follow directions and maintain processes. As the HR Coordinator, you’ll be the first point of contact for the human resources department. You’ll work closely with the Building Maintenance Technician on building operations projects, support the HR team with HR operations responsibilities like invoicing, benefits reconciliations, supply orders, etc, and help establish and fun and exciting workplace by planning engaging events like ATA’s holiday celebration and Employee Appreciation Week. The HR Coordinator will also provide excellent customer service while taking calls from ATA’s main phone lines on a rotating basis. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and work closely with the HR Generalists, the Building Maintenance Technician, and the Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Operations. This position would primarily report out of our HQ in Navy Yard, D.C. (Navy Yard Ballpark metro station on the green line). ATA is a hybrid organization and this role is eligible to work remotely. Due to the nature of this position this role may need to work onsite up to 5 days a week but candidates can expect to work remotely 2 – 3 days a week.BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: Education – BA/BS plus 0-2 years’ experience in preferably in Human Resources or other related fields.Skill Requirements – Must be adept at problem-solving and able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees and members of the HR team. Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently. Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, and able to monitor work for quality. Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback. As a member of the HR team, this individual will come into contact with confidential employee data and information. Must possess critical thinking skills and the foresight to handle this information appropriately.
