Description
The oldest and most respected wine company in America is hiring for a full-time Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible to delivering high-level support to Global Controller (GC) for daily accounting activities and reporting needs.
Requirements
- Execute Account Receivable and Account Payable reconciliations and follow up with sales team and vendors
- Heavily involved in payment related functions, such as processing wires, cutting checks, maintaining credit card receipts and generating payment report
- Help with daily cash and payment reports
- Work with other departments on expense reporting process and generate monthly variance analysis report
- Assist with month end process, such as bank reconciliations, intercompany transaction reconciliation, inventory reporting, general ledger adjustments etc.
- Assist with the annual external audit process for the group financials
- Assist with cost analysis reporting
- Generate accounting reports requested internally and externally as needed
- File company monthly and quarterly sales taxes
- Assist with annual 1099 reporting process
- Partner with Controller on any accounting issues requiring assistance or support
- Provide coverage for team member when necessary, such vacation or sick leave
- Assist with any other ad hoc projects
- Please note that these are the basic responsibilities but not limited to any other projects that are needed based on our needs.
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a senior accountant
- 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Great Plains knowledge required
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Access, database, or other system knowledge
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferrable
We are looking for someone with high energy and ability to deliver in a timely manner. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekends to meet job deadlines. Annual Salary Range: $75,000 to $95,000 DOE
