POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Director

POSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President of Strategic Support
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
POSITION EFFECTIVE: April 24, 2024

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all human resource initiatives, such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations. Oversee staff operations, business planning, and budget development of HR programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention; Identify HR priorities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops strategy and drive implementation of HR activities that create employee engagement and improve the company's profitability and success.
  • Aligns HR activities with business goals.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs while providing guidance, mentorship, and support to the team ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Oversees talent acquisition process ensuring timely hiring of qualified candidates to meet business needs; Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager to identify innovative recruitment strategies to execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Drives employee development initiatives to enhance skills and performance across the organization; Identify training needs while partnering with HR team to design tailored programs and evaluate their impact on employee growth.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor for employees and managers, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns in a fair and timely manner while cultivating a positive work environment that prioritizes open communication and mutual respect.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position has direct reports.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • At least (7) years of human resource management experience required, plus a minimum of (2) years’ experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience leading human resources functions in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (i.e., Paycom, ADP, Workday).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint preferred.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard
  • Ability to read a variety of materials
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to carry and lift materials up to 25 lbs.
