POSITION TITLE: Distribution Team Forklift Operator

POSITION REPORTS TO: Distribution Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Operations

POSITION EFFECTIVE: 8/21/2023

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Distribution Team Forklift Operator is responsible for efficiently and safely maneuvering forklifts and other equipment to handle, transport, and organize products within our warehouse facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods throughout the warehouse.
2. Safely stack, pick, and organize products using forklifts and other designated equipment.
3. Perform accurate inventory checks and document stock movements using computerized inventory systems.
4. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and stock replenishment.
5. Adhere to all safety guidelines, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements while operating equipment.
6. Conduct routine maintenance checks on forklifts and equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following good housekeeping practices.
8. Assist in receiving, inspecting, and labeling incoming shipments as needed.
9. Assist in packing and palletizing materials as needed.
10. Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow in the warehouse.
11. Contribute to maintaining accurate records of product movements, inspections, and inventory levels.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no direct reports.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Good understanding of warehouse safety practices and protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and managing paperwork process within the department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining a productive and positive work environment.
• Proficiency in using computerized inventory systems and basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items or packages (typically up to 50 pounds)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience operating forklifts and related material handling equipment required.
• Valid forklift operation certification or willingness to obtain certification license required.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled facility in both hot and cold climates
• Varying work schedules based on business need are sometimes required
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to carry and lift materials up to 100 lbs.
