Human Resources Coordinator

The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for supporting Human Resources needs with a focus on administrative duties and recruitment. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Responsibilities

• Help with bi-weekly payroll processing (currently using Paylocity)
• Payroll Support: Maintain all employee time records, respond to questions and requests
• Enter and update employee deductions, deposits, and 401(k) reporting
• HRIS Administration: Prepare and maintain accurate employee files, records, and information including maintaining and auditing employee forms such as I-9s
• Advise and assist managers in recruiting and hiring
• Participate in employee onboarding and new hire orientations
• Complete employment verifications
• Be a resource for managers and supervisors on current laws and policies
• Assist with managing crew feedback and grievances; assist with investigations
• Support benefits administration including enrollment, carrier payments, and employee questions and concerns
• Safety: Educate the crew on safety topics and work with workers' compensation carrier to minimize risk
• Assist with workers’ compensation case administration and LOA tracking
• Assist with event planning and office administration as needed

Qualifications

The ideal candidate can work as part of a distributed workforce, collaborate with members of the team, focus on solutions, contribute to systems development, have an eye for detail, and help evolve the HR function at Zachary’s:

• Experience in the field of Human Resources. Office administration a plus.
• Experience with payroll
• Proficiency in Google Apps and Microsoft Office software
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to work at all Zachary’s locations
• Valid CA driver’s license
• Communication skills: Excellent speaking and listening skills to share information effectively, while paying careful attention to concerns and questions from employees and job applicants.
• Decision-making skills: For reviewing applicants’ qualifications and for working to resolve employee disputes.
• Detail-oriented: When ensuring the workplace is compliant with labor standards and when maintaining records regarding employee grievances and reviewing candidate qualifications.
• Interpersonal skills: For interacting with new employees while conversing and connecting with people from various backgrounds and experiences.
• Professional HR certification is a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish and/or Tibetan is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is a plus

Full Time: 40 Hours/Week

Onsite work is required. Work schedule can be negotiated. Flexibility on one or more weekend days is a plus but not required.

Travel between Zachary’s locations is required. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Compensation: $26 - $34 per hour DOE
