The Role

WR is searching for a Vice President, Operations. The VP of Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the operational landscape of WR. This leadership position requires dynamic and strategic thinking to oversee project execution from design conceptualization through customer installation. The VP of Operations is responsible for fostering a culture of operational excellence, driving improved profitability and project margin, ensuring seamless collaboration between departments, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

What you will do

~ Essential Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure operational initiatives support overall business strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement (MKPS) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness with a goal of simplification and ease of doing business.
  • Foster team health through collaboration with executive leadership, peers, and all departments within WR; demonstrating open communication through conflict resolution, mutual commitment, and accountability to the collective organization to drive results.

Project Execution Oversight

  • Oversee project execution across all phases, from design to installation.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between design, customer experience, project management, warehouse, and installation teams.
  • Implement project management best practices to optimize timelines and deliverables.
  • Ensure adequate and knowledgeable workforce by analyzing staffing needs, recruiting, and interviewing, developing onboarding and other related training for employees.

Customer Experience Enhancement

  • Champion a customer-centric culture, ensuring all operations prioritize and exceed customer expectations.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators related to customer satisfaction and experience.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer interactions and service delivery.

Creative Design Practices

  • Provide oversight of creative design practices to ensure customers are supported with solution-oriented interiors planning.
  • Fosters design thinking approach to problem solving customers business needs.
  • Continually evolves and develops design team for best-in-class experience with the Design community.

Warehouse Management

  • Streamline warehouse operations to optimize inventory management and logistics.
  • Ensure efficient receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Installation Excellence

  • Oversee the installation process to guarantee the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with installation teams to resolve challenges and improve installation efficiency.
  • Develop and implement training programs for the installation teams.
  • Ensure installation standards are consistently met by all team members.

What success will look like

A successful Vice President, Operations will cultivate business relationships with other departments within WR and provide positive and effective representation with internal and external customers of our business.

Qualifications and/or Experience

The preferred candidate will hold a secondary degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field; or a minimum of 5 years in business management or equivalent combination of education or experience.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse management, logistics, and installation processes.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities for operational improvement.
  • High level communication skills that effectively drives understanding and commitment with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
  • Proven leadership skills, assertive, self-confident, self-starter, and the ability to empower, mentor and manage employees.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions, even in difficult situations, for timely resolution and with the company’s best interest.
  • Demonstrate ability to be agile and flexible to the changing conditions of the market and be purposeful about the changes the business will need to be successful.
  • Demonstrate integrity, transparency, and trust by acting ethically in all situations.
  • Proficient in all technology tools required to effectively run the business.

Work Environment and Physical/Mental Demands

The position requires working typically in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as office phone/smartphone, computer/laptop/computer keyboard/mouse, photocopiers, filing cabinets and printers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to visit and move around at construction and other customer/work sites, wearing appropriate safety protective gear. Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work related materials that frequently weigh up to 10 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh more than 25 lbs. Ability to work with numbers, research complex issues and resolve problems. Requires more advanced mathematical skills to understand spatial requirements and in doing bids. Must be able to read and comprehend complex written material, as well as ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile, and order data.
