Please review the following job description:

Manage the operation of the payroll department for a large, in-house payroll involving complex processes. Produce accurate and timely payments of salaries, wages and other forms of compensation to all personnel of Truist Insurance Holdings and its subsidiaries in compliance with governmental regulations and established company policy. Manage the accurate and timely financial reporting and reconcilements of payroll expense. Implements changes to payroll processes or system set up to maintain legal compliance. Certify that audits and exception reporting are conducted and completed to standards and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Manage the execution of required Workday processes and/or integrations to create payrolls producing checks and ACH files together with files for disbursement of all withheld taxes and benefit deductions.
2. Resolves complex payroll issues in compliance with company policy, federal, state, and/or local wage and hour laws and tax laws.
3. Develop payroll processing schedules to ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll processing and direct team members in the successful processing of payroll schedules to accomplish the accurate and timely disbursement of funds for compensation under highest quality standards. Plan resources to meet critical timing in the payroll processing of time entry and incentive uploads. 
4. Oversee the reconciliation and balancing of wage and tax amounts to ensure regulatory compliance of GL and tax reporting. 
5. Manage the identification and verification of erroneous data through the exception reporting process.
6. Direct the processing and collection of all overpayments.
7. Manage the termination process and ensure staff is adhering to all final pay state law requirements for a multistate organization.
8. Lead the department audit processes by ensuring quality control standards are achieved. Assign responsibility for segments of the audit process to team members. 
9. Maintains knowledge of tax regulations for federal, state, and local agencies and their application to all Truist Insurance Holdings tax entities.
10. Approves the reconcilement of General Ledger accounts utilized by payroll / payroll tax applications for accuracy and to ensure compliance with Truist Insurance Holdings Reconcilement standards. Research and resolve questions and inquiries from management regarding payments and allocations of payroll expenses. 

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training or experience
2. Eight years of professional expertise
3. Six years of demonstrated Workday experience including payroll, time tracking, and HR modules plus six years of demonstrated deep specialized and/or broad knowledge within the human resources discipline
4. Demonstrated leadership experience (ability to supervise, mentor, train, and develop a team) as well as the ability to manager diverse resources in a deadline-driven environment
5. Ability to lead complex projects with high risk exposure
6. Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organization strategies and processes
7. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and implement best practices to improve products, processes, or services
8. Ability to deal with and resolve problems effectively under pressure
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
10. Strong understanding of accounting principles and methods
11. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software products including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certified Payroll Professional
2. Three years Project Management and/or quality assurance experience
