Overview

It is the primary responsibility of the Legal Assistant to maintain the collections and subpoenas of the property. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. 

Specific Job Functions:

• Handle collections including preparing demand letters and follow through to collection proceeding if necessary
• Maintain a heavy load of paperwork
• Manage subpoenas for various properties
• Contact department supervisors for employee subpoenas
• Handle written correspondence
• Compile reports related to General Liability claims
• Maintain strict company confidentiality
• Perform clerical functions including but not limited to filing, answering multi-line phones and assisting callers
• Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department

Responsibilities/Qualifications

• At least one year legal experience required
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines while multi-tasking
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional organizational skills
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook required
• Ability to maintain confidential information a must
• Professional appearance and demeanor a must
