Office Manager

OVERVIEW
To provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the families, directors and staff of Taylor Funeral Home. This is a fast-paced office-based position requiring multi-tasking and minimum supervision. The preferred candidate should be a fast learner with prior customer service experience who is able to work independently and provide quality interaction with the general public.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Taking and processing information from families to generate documents.
  • Managing different computerized programs.
  • Assist directors and office staff.
  • Order services and supplies from vendors.
  • Scan documents/photos and send and receive emails.
  • Proficient in letter writing, proofing and sentence organization.
  • Proficient in computer knowledge/usage (Word/Publisher/Excel/NitroReader).

SPECIFICATIONS: This is a part-time position without benefits, which could change with the growth of the business. The candidate would work 25-29 hours a week Monday through Friday. All interested applicants should email their resume to alt6228152@gmail.com.

Hourly Rate

$11.00 per hour (minimum)- $20.00 (maximum)

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college experienced (preferred)
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Desktop Publisher and/or Nitro Reader (preferred).
  • Proficient in use of email and internet preferred.
  • Accurate typing and keyboard skills with moderate to excellent speed preferred.
  • Prior office assistance and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Willing to assist with the growth of the company.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must possess the following skills/traits:
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Good communication skills with the public and co-workers,
  • Complete understanding of teamwork,
  • Honest individual with good integrity,
  • Must have legible handwriting,
  • Must be a fast learner and able to effectively prioritize tasks,
  • Must be able to work alone and be a forward thinker,
  • Must be able to meet daily deadlines and complete tasks daily, and
  • Must be able to work ahead of deadlines and schedules.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to 30 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, talk, and hear.
