Summit Medical Group is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Knoxville, TN

Responsibilities

About Our Career Opportunity

Summit Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Coordinator. This position is Monday-Friday and is hybrid. After successful completion of training, the HR Coordinator will be permitted to work in-office and remotely on a rotating basis. **Candidates must be located in the Knoxville, Tennessee area as on-site work is required.**

Responsibilities:

  • Processess employee status changes throughout the employment lifecycle including: new hire onboarding, status changes, performance review calculations, and terminations. Keeps payroll information up-to-date, enters appropriate payroll adjustments (salary changes, salary reductions due to unpaid time off, etc.)
  • Maintains employee licensure and certification records by verifying, documenting, and maintaining primary source documentation. Keeps HR Director, Operations, and managers informed of any potential expirations.
  • Assists newly hired employees with required onboarding steps by providing superior customer service and keeps the appropriate practice manager informed of any potential delays or missing documentation.
  • Works closely with the HR Team to assist with high volume employee onboarding activities during acquisitions.
  • Maintains an positive working relationship with practice managers and managing physician partners by providing customer service via email and phone by answering their questions, providing guidance on specific HR processes, etc.
  • Monitors the progress of pre-employment screenings and provides routine updates to Talent Acquisition staff and/or hiring manager, as needed.
  • Formats, distributes, and maintains reports utilizing HR data upon request.
  • Serves as one of the first point of contact for general HR inquiries via telephone or email by answering general questions with confidence and accuracy. Maintains knowledge of HR Staff’s roles and responsibilities in order to route callers to the appropriate staff member, as necessary.
  • Assists with special functions that may occur throughout the year including but not limited to, open enrollment reminder phone calls to employees, assisting with putting together gift bags for a recruiting events, sending cards to staff for significant service award milestones, etc. 
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
  • Adheres to expectations of the established corporate compliance plan.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of basic human resources management practices.
  • Knowledge of the health care industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff at all levels throughout the organization, including executives, physicians, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources Management, or other related field preferred.
