History, Mission and Services
St. Vincent de Paul Society was founded in Paris in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam. Blessed Frederick Ozanam was inspired to serve the poor by the work of St. Vincent de Paul, and made it his mission to help the poor and to “accomplish through charity what justice alone cannot do.”
St. Vincent de Paul-San Francisco (SVDP-SF) began services in 1860 when members of local churches began distributing food, clothing, and medicine to the poor and homeless. For the past 164 years SVDP-SF has provided food, shelter, and support services for those most in need.
St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco operates the Multi-Service Center - Northern California’s largest homeless shelter, Navigation Centers for chronically homeless individuals and couples and the Riley Center - Domestic Violence shelter and services for survivors. We have over 175 employees working in 4 locations. We are proud of our diversity and our history of helping others in San Francisco. Job Summary:
The Executive Assistant is a critical member of the Administration Office Team that supports St. Vincent de Paul San Francisco (SVDP-SF) in its efforts to provide emergency and transitional housing to homeless individuals and victims of domestic violence. Primary responsibilities are to provide ongoing administrative support to the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors. The position requires advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, sensitivity to confidential matters, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, computer skills, copying editing, and the ability to gracefully manage multiple competing priorities. This is a full-time, non-exempt, non-union position.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday on site, with occasional evenings and weekends as required
Salary and Benefit Overview:
The salary rangeis $77,000 to $85,000 annually DOE.Kaiser HMO plan with no premium cost through 6/30/24. Voluntary dental, vision, and life insurance plans. 403b retirement plan with employer-paid match. Ten vacation days, ten sick days, two floating holidays and twelve and a half holidays accrued/offered each year. Additional vacation time, and other days off, are accrued from the beginning of the second year of continuous employment, through the fourth year of employment earning 20 vacation days. Employee Assistance Program and $2500 annual tuition reimbursement program..
