Legalist is hiring a Financial Analyst to enhance our Debtor-In-Possession (DIP) Financing strategy. This role is pivotal in developing dynamic financial models, underwriting credit risk, and refining our investment processes. Core Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and refine sophisticated financial models in Excel to support investment decisions, negotiations, and portfolio management.
  • Monitor and analyze loan budgets and milestones.
  • Conduct detailed credit risk analyses, evaluating borrower reorganization viability, market conditions, and collateral quality to inform underwriting decisions and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the investment and risk management teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on portfolio performance, risk exposure, and investment opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and potential impacts on portfolio risk and investment opportunities.
  • Enhance loan origination and monitoring processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required; advance degrees are highly regarded.
  • 3-5 years' experience in financial analysis, modeling, and risk assessment in a finance, banking, or private credit environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including experience with building complex financial models.
  • Familiarity with data visualization is valued.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Valued traits include flexibility, humility, a growth mindset, and a good sense of humor.
