Mission

Solugen’s mission is to decarbonize chemicals manufacturing. As a first step, Solugen is building a 10,000 tpy first commercial plant with the potential to offset up to 37,000 tpy of carbon dioxide equivalents. Solugen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a focus on process improvement to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive accounting knowledge and a proven track record of identifying and implementing process enhancements to streamline financial operations. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage technological solutions, and implement best practices to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the organization’s financial processes. This role will report to the Accounting Manager and will focus on but not limited to areas such as Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets & General Ledger reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Key Outcomes

• Process invoices include entering invoices, processing payments using ACH as the preferred method and electronic filing of invoices/payments
• Proactively reconciles statements/accounts and communicates with Vendors on outstanding issues; builds and maintains strong relationships with Vendors Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
• Partners with internal departments to resolve any PO/non-PO discrepancies and assists with inquiries that fall within their assignments
• Performs reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions for accurate reporting
• Maintain strong internal controls in areas of responsibility and ensure all work is appropriately documented and supported
• Maintain schedules for annual audits, roll-forwards, and other documents to be provided to external auditors and management
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports and apply technical accounting guidance in various areas
• Conduct various complex ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and provide recommendations based on financial findings included variance analysis of the P/L & B/S
• Communicate financial information to management, participating in meetings, and providing guidance to junior staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or relevant professional certification is preferred
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant currently with a focus on process improvement
• 5-10 years of industry experience with public of accounting (Big 4 or Large Firm) preferred
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change
• Ability to analyze and evaluate financial and accounting records and identify problems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
• Knowledge of accounting and/or auditing principles, practices, concepts, and systems
• Experience with NetSuite, Coupa or Mid-Size ERP equivalent
