We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Coordination: Lead the coordination of accounting functions and programs, ensuring smooth integration with NetSuite and other financial systems.
2. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial analyses and reports, leveraging advanced features in NetSuite for detailed reporting. Ensure accurate representation of fixed assets in all financial records.
3. Month-end Close Management: Oversee the month-end close process for multiple LLCs, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
4. Accounts Management:
•Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile both accounts payable and receivable.
•Employ advanced Excel functionalities such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and PivotTables for efficient verification and reconciliation.
•Utilize NetSuite's accounts modules for comprehensive transaction management, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records.
5. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Deliver error-free accounting reports and effectively communicate the results.
6. Audit Support:
•Assist with annual audit preparations by generating reconciliation schedules and collaborating with auditors for specific NetSuite data needs.
•Investigate and address audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues. Leverage NetSuite's audit trail features for comprehensive anomaly tracing.
7. Tax Reporting: Aid in the preparation of federal, state, local, and specialized tax returns to ensure compliance and accuracy.
8. Fixed Asset Management:
•Supervise the recording, tracking, and depreciation of company fixed assets.
•Guarantee that these assets are correctly represented in NetSuite.
9. System Analysis: Review subsidiary structures, chart of accounts, and custom fields. Provide insights on system enhancements or integrations to optimize accounting processes.
10. Process Improvement: Contribute to the design and modification of accounting systems, programs, and procedures to stay ahead of evolving business needs.
11. Team Support and Mentorship:
•Execute various accounting tasks as needed.
•Offer mentorship and guidance to junior staff, particularly in niche areas such as NetSuite and fixed asset management.
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department.
Requirements
Proven experience managing general ledgers for multiple LLCs.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially in advanced functions and spreadsheet management.
Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Ability to train and manage staff.
Knowledge of and experience with NetSuite accounting software.
Hands-on experience in asset-management software is a plus.
