The Project Manager will own the content development life cycle, drive the overall processes, tracking, and day-to-day coordination of activities related to content development for our off-the-shelf content products and/or custom projects for key customers. They will nurture and consistently innovate a custom projects lifecycle engine that produces consistency, high quality, high customer satisfaction, and on-time/on-budget deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Own the content development lifecycle using methods that result in budgets promoting at least 50% margin and within defined deadlines and deliverables. 
  • Coordinate, refine, and help accelerate the project kick-off and onboarding process through timely scheduling and proactive partnerships with appropriate team members. 
  • With your manager, build and maintain customer tailored processes to ensure all team members are prepared and follow clear, documented, tracked, and communicated expectations and deliverables. 
  • Proactively manage each project to ensure deliverables are on time and budget. 
  • Support and develop relationships with existing and prospective customers to interpret individual requirements and incorporate into established processes where appropriate.
  • Become a trusted advisor for existing and prospective customers to nurture and scale the Professional Services portfolio 
  • Advocate for quality content delivery within individual projects by acting as a reviewer/tester where and as appropriate. 
  • Support establishing best practices for our “lab building engine” processes and custom content creation processes and devise methods to share these best practices with -- and learn from -- other teams, such as the Challenge Lab team. 
  • Implement responsive and trustworthy management processes for Professional Services projects. 
  • Manage courseware projects to assure objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Implement efficient processes for content development projects with a focus on balancing approach to project quality with cost-efficacy and timely execution. 
  • Maximize new opportunities through existing relationships, maintain balance while expanding, grow without compromising our brand. 
  • Weigh company performance against company monthly, quarterly, and yearly objectives. 
  • Meticulous updating of all key project resources and communication tools ensuring roadmap accuracy and cross-company clarity. 
  • Be an example for sound project and product management practices in the Professional Services team 
  • Ensure best practices are maintained in management methodologies and other management skills for skills development and skills validation content creation. 
  • Work day-to-day with others in the Professional Services Group and other departments to document best practices for integrating scored labs and other Skillable products with custom content opportunities. 
  • Convey the Skillable ethos for strategizing and implementing effective, efficient skills development and skills validation content.
  • Represent the Professional Services product with other departments, customers, and prospects. 
  • Document case studies and lessons learned to increase the Professional Services team’s knowledge base. 
  • Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. 
  • Other strategic business initiatives or special cross-functional project involvement as required. 

Requirements

  • 3 years managing complex programs/projects through contracted technical resources. PMP desirable, but not required.
  • World-class project management skills, including familiarity with project management platforms such as Zoho, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Trello, Aha!, and/or others. 
  • Desire and ability to work at an extremely fast pace. 
  • Proven ability to manage and drive multiple workflows/projects forward within a matrixed, agile work environment. 
  • Proven ability to manage the details of all concurrent projects. 
  • Working knowledge of technical terminology and ability to quickly become “conversationally competent” with a wide variety of cloud, data, AppDev, IT, and security terms. 
  • Proven experience in managing remote and multicultural contractor teams and influencing contractors to communicate and deliver high-quality, on time deliverables. 
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to promote forward momentum within a project-based environment. 
  • Experience in the IT training industry and/or understanding of technical content development and Instructional Design is preferred. 
  • Ability to self-motivate from a remote work environment.

Working Conditions

The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
